Thanks Hardey! I'll give you a call in a little bit.

To answer other questions, Jon is right. The car is at Autobahn and I can't get pictures of it until Thursday, which is also the day that I'm going down there to pick it up. However, the front seats are NOT installed, and the interior from the B pillars going forward are also not in.

I know that this will cost money and take time. I've known that from the start. Is it worth it? Well, that's all up to who you ask. If you're asking me, I'm going to go with yes. Its my car, I love it, and I've had it since I was 15. I'm sure other people would tell you I'm wasting money. But then again, its not their car. I know that the car will not be done tomorrow. That is fine. I don't need it tomorrow. All I'm saying is that I want to take the car to a shop who will actually work on it and do things right, which is why I called Hardey first.

I just need to get all the details nailed down today so I can figure out logistics for Thursday.

I MIGHT be able to let it live in my garage for a bit, and I'm ~.5 miles from Autobahn. If you need me to I can ask her, since Chris has helped me out in the past.

update:
motor runs and sounds great.
there was a good amount of spliced wires and such.
not sure what the person was doing in some of the harness.
had to rewire a bunch of things to make the alarm immobilizer to work with the power air pump locks and such.

do you have the vr6 instrument cluster with the harness to the fuse box? we will need that so it works properly.
also the right steering wiper switch with the mfa control so that works.

who is the person who cut off the seat posts and welded in plates?
the only easiest true way to do it correctly is to cut the lower frame that slide in off a mk3 seat and weld it to the mk4 frame seat. that way it slides in like factory. redoing and modifying the rails isnt very smart and now it will have to be cut and replaced from another car to be correct.

few different ways.
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3778402
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4764700

the door panels are still on and window are able to roll up. wasnt expecting that. i figured they were off.

now if i can remember wasnt the car you took apart a black jetta? reason is.. all you would of had to do is twist the plugs on the doors and unbolt them and bolt them on to your car since the doors are all the same as the golf and the jetta so you can attain power windows.
i saw the regulators and such in a box and some what of a harness that looked cut up.
you sure you dont want to just cut a hole in the black panels and just have manual windows? mk3 power regs are terrible and who knows if they all actually works and wiring every door is a good amount of work hoping they work.
just something to think about.

i will take some pictures tomorrow and show you everything as it being done so we have pictures of it on here.
some of the engine bay stuff is kinda mended together. may want to find correct parts so it looks better.
1 plug wire isnt the same as the rest.
the vacuum line to the manifold from the brake booster is a blue samco hose of some sort. it works but would look better oem.

also the battery was hooked up when it showed up. kinda strange and not good to run power through the system incase something wasnt wired correctly or something shorted out. just some info incase you didnt know.

who wired up the headlights? looks like they spliced in relays?
thats on the list to check and get working next.
did you add fog lights in the harness?

Lets see....I'll answer what I can. Please keep in mind that I haven't had the car in my possession for close to a year, so some of it I'm unsure of.

I'm not sure who wired the headlights. Maybe Autobahn?

I did not add fog lights to the wiring harness.

I did not hook up the battery.

Not sure what to do about the seats since I wasn't the one who F-ed it up in the first place.

Not sure what to do about the windows. I wanted power windows so it would match up with the door cards that will eventually be going in the car.

Does that help?
